Mixing the best elements of a BBQ Grill house, with a traditional pub combining a friendly and relaxed service with an urban led theme, the Sheet Anchor returns as a new concept. The Blockhouse, our exciting new offering is set to launch December 2016.

Nestled between the quintessential English villages of Whitmore and Baldwins Gate, we felt this was the perfect venue to launch The Blockhouse, due to its desirable location and landmark nature, broadening our appeal to a mix of clientele from near and far.

Having travelled far and wide, our directors have taken inspiration from different cultures and gastronomy, including Western cuisine and from our Operations Directors homeland, South African barbecue. Traditions such as cooking with barbeques on beaches with fresh catches from land and sea, keeping the fire burning for up to five days and cooking slow and low and grilling at searing temperatures. Chris Childs, our Operations Director and his strong development team have mirrored these techniques and designed an extensive menu for the meat loving diner. Exploring new ways to revolutionise the established smoked classics, dishes such as the 12 hour smoked belly pork, spectacular seafood platter for two, lobster and brisket and the unbeatable Blockhouse burger featuring our soon to be famous smoked tomato ketchup have been created by our dedicated team of chefs, using our long established group of local suppliers, bringing only the best of fresh local produce.

To complement our food offering, extensive research and planning has been undertaken to bring a varied range of real ales, craft beers and continental lagers to the traditional pub and bar area. Specifically designed for the Blockhouse by our own mixologist Simon is the eclectic cocktail menu bringing an invigorating mix of classics with our own unique twists.

Working alongside internationally renowned design company Keane Brands, our interior vision has been brought to life with the venue being transformed into an exclusive urban dining experience. At Parogon we are renowned for our extra-mile attitude and the Blockhouse promises to continue this in a more relaxed and casual environment. Our highly skilled and motivated team enjoy nothing more than ensuring each customer receives a memorable visit and this venue will be no different.

Combining all these elements, a new form of grill restaurant has been born, The Blockhouse.
